Have you hypnotised people?

Has anywhere in our life we have hypnotized people? Sound really strange question but mind it I have asked this question to every one of you. I’ll tell you something, which I have discovered from the things I observed in my way. I don’t know how many of you believe or follow Hinduism; I’d like to tell you about an incident in our mythological story of Ramayana. Sage Gautam and his wife Ahilya used to live in a sacred forest. Ahilya was well known as Sati Ahilya (Sati- the one who is completely loyal towards her husband). Once god of gods named Indra planned to challenge her loyalty towards her husband. So he went in disguise of her husband and started to behave like the same with her. He asked her to submit herself to him. But due to her virtue she identified that there was someone else in disguise of her husband. After this indra revealed himself and angry Ahilya cursed Indra that he will not able to procreate after this. While Indra was leaving the house with guilt and disgust Sage Gautam saw him and doubted about Ahilya’s loyalty and gave her a curse that she will get transformed into a rock. After realizing the fact that nothing has happened between the two he felt guilty and he decreased intensity of the curse by saying that Ahilya will transform as she was after touch of God Ram’s leg.

Avoiding the over exaggeration of situations one must understand that transforming into a rock is possible and could have been done at that time. Sounds crazy! One must not misunderstand that the lady actually transformed into rock. Here the thing, which took place, was that Ahilya was feeling a weak sense of guilt or may be she was sure about Gautam sage that he cannot be convinced easily, or her respect for her husband made her accept about the accusations. Any of the above situations weakens her will power, on the other hand a strong suggestion which also supports either of above situations along with strong will power with absence of any sort of guilt makes direct impact on Ahilya’s sub-conscious mind making her to live in structure of a rock i.e. motionless, steady, numb of course everything resembling to a rock. Of course everyone in one’s life has seen a rock and hence it was natural for her to imitate a rock.

The second part of story tells us about something, which is called “Post-Suggestions”. Sage then told her that Ahilya will transformed as she was after touch of God Ram’s leg. This was also a suggestion given by a strong will power and the result was that she actually transformed in her normal state after this happened.

This is just a mythological story, which actually seems to be miraculous if we don’t know the reason behind the things which actually worked out here.
